The Lt Governor is the head of the Mississippi Senate and as such is said to be the most powerful position in State Government, since Mississippi has a weak Governor system of government. Right now the Mississippi Senate is a rubber stamp for Governor Barbour. I would like to see the Governor challenged and have a more balanced, less partisan state government. As Charlie Mitchell from the Vicksburg Post puts it:
"If voters want to see how Barbour's policies would work for Mississippi if unfettered, electing Bryant would be a big part of making that come true. If, however, they want to see the agenda of a second- term governor challenged, they'd have to go with Franks."
The person running against Jamie Franks is our current State Auditor Phil Bryant. He has been contacted numerous times about going into our Circuit Clerk's Office to see what Binky is up to - and he refuses to do anything. By the time Eddie Walker, our newly elected Circuit Clerk, finally gets sworn in, Binky could have stolen everything there. Binky is STILL behind in submitting his legally required reports, and the State Auditor can't find time to enforce the law - and protect the taxpayors. Fine, just don't expect me to vote for him. I hope you won't either.
The bottom line is if you care about Adams County, you'll vote for Jamie Franks for Lt Governor next Tuesday, November 6.

Attorney General, Jim Hood didn't do us any favors in the Binkey embezzlement either.
It really doesn't matter which candidates you vote for or if you vote at all. When it is all over, Mississippi will still be at the bottom of the barrel. Our state will never be progressive because we have no visionaries. Our state motto should be: "Ass-backwards and proud of it!"
We may be at the bottom but I am going to do everything I can to change that. It takes one person, a step at a time, to start some momentum. I hope you join me "9:35pm". And, making an informed vote does make a difference!!!
Either Jamie Franks does not know much about the office he is running for, or just did not see fit to tell the truth, or our 28 year veteran of the legislative process does not know much because the Mississippi Constitution in Article 4 section 39 provides and I quote "The SENATE shall choose a President pro tempore to act in the absence or disability of its presiding officer". Not the Lt. Governor.
Another Jamie Franks trial lawyer error.
When was the last time we had a President Pro Tempore that was not supported by the Lt Governor?
If it had not been for our State Auditor, Binky Vines would not have even been prosecuted. What you said about Bryant with regard to Binky is simply NOT TRUE. The fact that Binky is walking the streets and serving the remainder of his term is the fault of our Attorney General. Franks also blamed Bryant for the Beef Plant Fiasco, which HE promoted and VOTED FOR 3 times.
I wonder how many others around the State Franks has promised that slot. Since he's 15 points behind in the polls it may be hard to deliver, nice choice Bob. Dearing typically gets some support from conservatives in his races, not any more. Franks is as left wing as they come. After 28 years, you don't have to wonder why Dearing has NEVER had one of the top chairmanships. Don't blame the Republicans, only 2 of his 7 terms have been under Republican Lt. Governors. So he will have another 4 years to do NOTHING, just like the last 28.
In Jackson, Dearing is not considered the brighest light there. Why would he be backing Franks and what would happen to Dearing if Byrant is elected. Then he will not be selected for any important committees by the Lt. Gov. Which is bad for the area that Dearing represents.
Yes. Elect Jamie Franks and OUST Jim Hood!!!
You elect Jamie Franks and the rest of our Doctors will be moving across the river. He makes a living (and a good one) suing everyone he can. BAD for Mississippi. Ironically the same same trial lawyers that tried to beat our do-nothing Senator are the ones he's in bed with in the Lt. Gov.'s race, hard to believe. I wonder how the Doctors that had a fundraiser for the Senator a couple of months ago feel about him supporting the trial lawyer. They should feel pretty stupid.
Jamie Frank is the current Chair of the House Conservation and Water Resources Committee. Frank has introduced legislation that would mandate hybrid cars for state government use, provide tax credits for Miss. to buy hybrid cars and offer incentives for growers to turn row crops into biofuel.
He is for a clean and healthy environment. This is why I am voting for him.
Jamie Franks is a real person, not a robot, but Phil bryant is a total fake. I heard them in a forum on the Coast, and there were obvious differences. Also, Jamie Franks is the only person in the House of Reps who stood up and said no when Barbour & co wanted to put oil rigs in the Gulf and the sound, right outside the National Seashore! I predict this will become a big issue again if Barbour is reelected, so it is ESSENTIAL to vote for Franks to stand against him.
Bryant just gave Bubber West a pass when he paved his Church (Zion Chapel) parking lot.
Remember that?
Cost to the taxpayers of Natchez, about $10,000.
